Marshall Shepherd, Ph.D., director of the Atmospheric Sciences program at the University of Georgia, discussing atmospheric science and urban climate. He conducts research on weather and climate systems using advanced satellites, experimental aircraft, radars, and sophisticated computer models. He seeks to understand weather processes – including thunderstorms, hurricanes, and rainfall – and atmospheric processes in order to relate them to current weather and climate change.
